McBride Electric, Inc. Company Heritage

In 1950, Lloyd McBride was a good man to know in Wichita, KS. Operating from his backyard, he had a knack for customer service and taking care of the lighting needs for local business and home owners. Our timeline begins from there... 1950's: Lloyd was soon recognized for his proficiency at installing electrical circuits for the new technological rage at the time - window air conditioners. Lloyd's attention to detail and his courteous attitude soon resulted in more business. Before long, the yard was not big enough to park all the McBride service trucks and the first office was opened in Wichita. 1960's: Lloyd's son, Lloyd Jr., purchases McBride Electric to follow in his father's footsteps. Business continues to thrive in Kansas. As the sole owner of the company in 1969, Lloyd's vision is to expand McBride and continue the legacy of "Service-One Step Beyond" 1970's: Lloyd Jr. transfers a KS employee to Oklahoma and opens the first "branch" operation. After the Oklahoma transfer proved successful, expansion continued and in this decade McBride Electric was established Denver, Dallas and Houston. 1980's: Expansion continues with the opening of the Fort Worth branch. The McBride family heads out west with their first California operations - San Diego and Orange County. Lloyd's sons, Marc and Mike McBride, become majority stockholders and all corporate operations are moved from Kansas to San Diego, California. One customer, Kentucky Fried Chicken, represents a unique opportunity with multi-site installations. 1990's: Expansion continues with offices opening in Atlanta, San Antonio and Austin. The multi-site location opportunities continue to surface and McBride Strategic Client Group is developed as a business unit to focus on large opportunities with national accounts such as big box retailers and quick service restaurant chains. 2000 to present: Recognizing the growing demand for increased technical services relative to information transport, structured cabling was added to the service expertise and McBride DataConnect was created. David DiLoreto is appointed President of McBride. Work increases in the data center market and the newest branch in Orange, Texas is opened in order to focus on the rapidly-growing industrial and petrochemical markets. Marc and Mike McBride exit the company as full-time employees, and Bill Pesch is appointed CEO as successor to Marc McBride. Scott Palka joins the firm as CFO and Eric Lazear joins as VP Sales & Marketing to complete the Executive Team. The company takes a lead role in the development and installation of Solar PV Panel systems and completes more than 10 MW in 2009. At the close of 2009, Dave McCann is promoted to VP Construction to give the firm increased presence and stability in its construction, solar and major projects segments. Today, with over 600 employees, McBride Electric proudly provides electrical, nationwide technology roll-out, critical infrastructure, information transport and renewable energy solutions to clients across all of North America. Our service and project work has been performed at sites for more than 50% of today’s Fortune 500.
